Major Moscow's Strikes Cut Power Across Kyiv

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have faced increased attacks in the past few days

During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have led to electricity outages in large parts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were injured while residents in the city's east were experienced blackouts and encountered disruption to water systems, as stated by municipal leaders.

At the same time, a seven-year-old child was lost their life in a separate assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, according to local officials.

Russian forces has escalated assaults on electrical systems over the past few days, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "substantial measures" from allies to increase pressure on Russia.

He said that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 projectiles struck energy facilities, characterizing such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as winter approaches.

Government representatives said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were working to repair systems.

A series of attacks damaged energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the attacks on the city have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by local officials.

Local officials said the urban area endured significant strikes overnight. A seven-year-old child lost their life and three other people were injured.

The assaults follow evenings of bombing campaigns in the territory, parts of which are occupied by invading troops.

The entire country is on alert for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are tougher to identify.

Authorities told journalists that Moscow was purposely seeking to destroy the country's energy grid, with strikes already impacting fuel infrastructure.
